The fifth edition of the PRODU Awards, which aims to promote the Latin industry worldwide and has become the most important award of the region, is now open to submissions.
Both the mass audience and executives of the audiovisual industry will be able to witness a unique award, which this year adds 19 new categories in order to cover all the facets of the production ecosystem, its stars, and their promotion. In total, these categories will include 27 in Content, 27 in Talent and Technicians, and 4 in Marketing. Programs produced in the US Hispanic market, Latin America, Brazil, and Spain will be able to compete.
Some of the new categories are Best news program, Best information program, Best sports program, the Best film released on the platform, Best period recreation, Best variety program/talk show, and two categories dedicated to COVID: Creativity in COVID Production and CSR Campaigns linked to COVID.
In addition, for the first time it will be awarded two Grand Prix: Fiction and Entertainment Grand Prize, to highlight the content that had the highest score among all the categories of its genre.
The winners of the PRODU Awards will be revealed in two different galas: a presentation on November 18, oriented to industry executives and that will be produced in partnership with Reed Midem and MIP Cancun. The other, in co-production with TOAC, will be held on December 1 and 2. This Gala, targeted to the mass audience, comprises a 50-hour live broadcast that will be condensed into a one-hour special on TV that will be broadcast on different channels in Latin America, the United States, and Spain.
