THEMA America attends MIP Cancun for the first time offering a catalog of thematic channels and international content, including the Kanal D Drama and Mezzo Live brands, and the Korean series K-Dramas.
Recently, THEMA America closed strategic agreements with the Korean production companies Korea Telecom (KT) Studio Genie and CJ ENM. Studio Genie has a catalog of nearly 20 series and produces around 10 new series each year. CJ ENM, for its part, is a leading media company in Korea, owner of several television channels and OTT platforms.
“MIP Cancun is the perfect framework to present and offer our value proposition that includes thematic channels and a select catalog of the best K-Dramas. Our recent alliance with the Korean production companies Studio Genie and CJ ENM responds to the boom in Korean content worldwide which shares great similarities with Latin American telenovelas, such as the moving scenes that appeal to emotions and the plots that captivate Spanish-speaking audiences” expressed Carlos Fernandez, CEO of THEMA America.
The contents that THEMA America will offer at MIP Cancun include:
The Vietnamese series Hellbound Village (12×40’/45’), produced by K+ for Canal+ Originals and directed by Tran Huu Tan; the action and mystery series Scarlet Hill (8×60’), produced by K+ for Canal+ Originals and directed by Victor Vu; the suspense series Proyecto Genesis (6×60’), by the directors Jang Tae-yu and Kim Jae-hong and produced by Studio Genie; the action series Evilive (Biography of a Villain), produced by Studio Genie; the period drama Secret Royal Inspector and Joy (16×60’), produced by CJ ENM; and the romantic comedy Corazón de hielo (16×60), produced by CJ ENM and directed by Park Joon-hwa.
