THEMA America: Our goals for Andina Link are to consolidate SVOD Kanal D Drama and expand the distribution of Mezzo Live HD

THEMA America has high expectations for the Andina Link expo and Colombia, where Kanal D Drama “is already recognized as a brand in the region”. “We seek to consolidate this position and promote Kanal D Drama which recently launched an SVOD streaming service in Colombia,” said Patrick Rivet, CEO of the company.
Regarding the launch of Mezzo Live HD in Claro Brazil, Rivet said that this is a strategic alliance, “which places Mezzo Live HD and Mezzo VOD on the Latin American map as part of the Claro BOX offering, also available in Claro NOW. We will work so Mezzo’s offer expands throughout Latin America to countries like Colombia, with audiences who love the arts and live shows,” he pointed out.
Asked about the advantages of THEMA America’s offer to the region, he indicated: “Today, the rule is to consume content through mobile devices anywhere and anytime, which is why we found it necessary to launch the Kanal D Drama app to satisfy that need. We always work very closely with our business partners in the region to increase the value of the offer of our thematic channels as much as possible. The great differentiator of our offer is that it aims at specific audiences. Kanal D Drama’s new viewing offer allows us to directly reach those who do not have a pay-TV service in Latin America -several million-, with the advantage that the service will be available on a wide variety of mobile devices, so that they can follow the premieres of the Turkish series they love so much, from anywhere whenever they want.”
The recent post-pandemic normal demands an evolution in order to offer viewing and entertainment options with diverse content of the highest quality. “THEMA is at the forefront of technology, proof of this is the recent agreement with Amagi for the global distribution of our content, using cutting-edge technology with a complete set of solutions for the creation, distribution, and monetization of content. This alliance includes a state-of-the-art cloud streaming operations center that can support more than 1,000 live linear channels,” he said.
For Rivet, Colombia and Andina Link have always been key to the company and they are happy to return to face-to-face events.
“Colombia has received very well the linear offer of Kanal D Drama, which already reaches more than a million homes in the country through Claro, and the same can be said about the SVOD streaming service of KDD, which we launched last September. But there is still great potential in the Andean country, as there is a large audience that is a loyal follower of these dramas. Every year, we keep a very steady eye on what’s going on at Andina Link, to follow new trends and the latest technological advances in the industry. This is a space where key players from the sector and government meet and this year they will surely be analyzing where the industry is heading in the post-COVID era,” he said.
