THEMA America’s strategy will continue to be expanding the Kanal D Drama brand in all corners of the Americas through strategic alliances with its affiliates, either through linear TV or OTT services like the one they just launched.
“The development and launch of Kanal D Drama subscription streaming service goes hand in hand with our strategy to advance and position the brand in the Americas. To succeed in this ocean of streaming offerings, it is key to be flexible and alert, to understand audiences and absorb changes strategically and efficiently,” said Patrick Rivet, CEO of THEMA America.
In Latin America, the new app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store and Google Play for mobile devices and tablets enabled for playback via Chromecast, and will also be available on Amazon Fire TV and Samsung smart TVs very soon.
Kanal D Drama’s subscription streaming service is independent, so subscribers will be able to enjoy daily premieres of titles already on the linear screen, as well as full series. “The Kanal D Drama application can be downloaded on a wide variety of devices without the need for a pay-TV subscription, it has a very attractive look & feel, and also a section exclusively dedicated to the best-known actors among Latin American fans and US Hispanic. In addition, browsing is very simple and friendly, with an excellent user experience. We have taken our time to develop it and launch it because we wanted to fine-tune every detail and we are pleased to say that we have a completely developed product at very competitive prices, which complements Kanal D Drama’s linear offering,” Rivet explained.
Kanal D Drama’s new streaming app offers more than 4,000 hours of Turkish series dubbed into Spanish with memorable titles such as ¿Qué Culpa Tiene Fatmagül?, Mi Vida Eres Tú, Tormenta de Pasiones and Amor Prohibido, among many other dramas.
As for Kanal D Drama’s linear signal, he announced that it debuted in Nicaragua and Paraguay through its business partner in the region, Tigo, and will soon be available in Mexico. “The channel continues its momentum globally with presence in 16 countries on three continents,” he said.
