Tondero, Peruvian production company responsible for film hits such as Asu Mare or El Gran León, turns 10 and works to continue expanding in the international market.
After making film co-productions with Colombia, Chile, Argentina and Spain, “we are closing strategic alliances with Mexico, Colombia and Spain to be able to start an expansion process for Tondero in those countries,” said Miguel Valladares, founder and general manager of Tondero.
Some of Tondero´s hits, along with the aforementioned Asu Mare and El Gran León, are Locos de Amor, A Los 40, Lusers, Av. Larco la Película, Siete Semillas and Soltera Codiciada; as well as author films that have been very successful in international festivals such as Magallanes, Casa Dentro, El Elefante Desaparecido and Solos.
Tondero also represents more than 80 Peruvian artists and has produced big shows and concerts like Nubeluz 25 Años, Mentiras el Musical, Av. Larco, concerts by Christian Meier, Gian Marco, and others.
Two years ago, they founded Tondero Distribución for local distribution and international sales of films, documentaries, series and novelas, under the leadership of Cecilia Gómez de la Torre.
“We have attended the most important fairs in the world and launched films in movie theaters of more than 14 countries, airlines of the five continents, and on platforms such as Netflix, Hemisphere, HBO, FOX, iTunes, among others; generating strategic alliances to promote national production,” said Gómez de la Torre.
