TV Azteca became the host of a semifinal round of the International Emmy Awards 2017, and with this, an opportunity to strengthen their international presence, assured Fidela Navarro, director of TV Azteca Internacional, who also announced they will be the hosts of the Mipcom gala dinner. Las Malcriadas is one of their main bets at Mipcom.
“At Mipcom, we will host gala dinner and this event will be the starting point of TV Azteca´s 25th anniversary. At this fair we are going to present Las Malcriadas, as well as a comedy series, the telenovela La Hija Pródiga, we will be with El César in co-production with Disney and an advance of what we will have for 2018” mentioned Navarro.
He highlighted that at the end of this year and start of the next one, they will have a primetime with productions that cover topics that have never been done on TV: “We will have action, period series, classic telenovelas, mystery, comedy, making 2018 a year of varied content that will be available not only on the linear screen but also on platforms as we have done on Blim, Netflix, soon on Amazon, as well as Telemundo and Univision.”
Finally, she assured that being hosts of a semifinal round of the International Emmy Awards allows them to watch content from other territories and “go back to positioning themselves in an international context. We want to be the home and headquarters of the world”. They are participating in this awards ceremony with Rosario Tijeras, Entre Correr y Vivir and La Fiscal de Hierro.
