TV Azteca officially presented the cast and production of the second season of Lotería del Crimen, starring Sara Maldonado and Claudio Lafarga, premiering on Azteca Siete on November 6 at 9:30pm. During the event, Adrián Ortega, general director of Content at TV Azteca, emphasized the company’s commitment to generating high-level productions for the Mexican public and suitable for any country worldwide.
“It is a series made with love, a blockbuster with unsurpassed talent. We have Carlos Carrera as director, supported by a powerful production team, and all the cinematographic technology possible. It is TV Azteca’s return to fiction with the series. It is a police thriller that brings together all the action elements that the public wants to see but made in Mexico. It is an idea of TV Azteca for the world, and we are happy that the company’s channel portfolio is strengthened with this product,” commented Ortega.
It is a production designed for the Mexican audience, with an international focus. “We are also going to platforms, two now, and there is a great interest in this product worldwide. What is more interesting is that we are generating original products made in Mexico, and with this series, TV Azteca continues to create interesting, attractive, and dynamic properties,” he said.
Regarding the genre of the series, leaning towards police thriller, he mentioned that they are thinking about local identity so Mexicans will feel identified. “It is a series with a personality that speaks its language, with characters consistent with this country. It is a well-written project, with a simple narrative that will put real Mexico on the screen, close to our audience.”
He ensured that it represents the diversity of content that the company has in its different channels. “It becomes part of Azteca Siete’s portfolio where the police theme has dwelled, and now the identity of its production fits perfectly. We also have series like Un Día para Vivir, which will be reinforced with a strong talent like Sara Maldonado. We continue to offer action, powerful dramas, real cases, which, in the end, become entertainment.”
Once again, Carlos Carrera is the director of the series. This new installment brings back the Criminal Investigation Unit to solve the most unusual and mysterious cases in Mexico. With more reinforcements on the team, UNIC continues to take down the most vicious criminals they can find.
Joining Sara Maldonado and Claudio Lafarga are Arnoldo Picazzo, Angélica Lara, Jorge Fink, Alejandra Herrera, Tamara Niño de Rivera and Lupita Sandoval.
