A change of image and contents for the signal Azteca Uno, strengthen and seek new co-productions, as well as a count with a team of professionals are some of Alberto Ciurana’s bets since his arrival as general director of Content and Distribution at TV Azteca.
The executive said he was convinced that TV continues to be the star, highlighting that out of approximately 6.5 hours that a person spends consuming content in Mexico, around 4 hours are on TV, therefore, “we continue betting on quality productions and that is the reason for the debut of series such as El César, the second season of Rosario Tijeras, the change of set of the newscast Hechos, achieving a correct alignment of contents at Azteca Uno, signal that in the second semester will be a very different, modern, and new screen,” he explained.
Ciurana highlighted that Benjamín Salinas’ visión and the intention to build a good television for Mexican families were two of the reasons that impulsed him to accept, after nine months, the invitation to form part of this team. His first task was to surround himself with a team of experienced people such as Sandra Smester, who now leads Azteca Uno, Adrián Ortega for Azteca Siete, Ricardo Vázquez in the regional stations and now Patricia Jasin as VP of Azteca Internacional and Emilio Aliaga in the digital area: “Currently, TV Azteca has the best team to produce TV in Mexico”.
