To prepare for the return of fiction to Azteca Uno, the general director of Content and Distribution of TV Azteca, Sandra Smester, reported that the network is preparing to receive new original stories, so they are already reading scripts to choose the next one which will not be a telenovela or pink, or classic.
She also announced their new bets for the following months, such as the new editions of La Voz, La Academia, MasterChef kids and unitaries that will complement the programming grid of both networks.
“This week we will premiere the reality show Soy Famoso, Sácame de Aquí, where 12 celebrities are traveling to the Dominican Republic to face different challenges. It is a short five-week format that will air throughout the region. Then, in June, comes Survivor with the Warrior, again as the host”, Smester commented.
Regarding their formats, she highlighted the recent premiere of La Voz Kids and the beginning of recordings of La Voz. To this is added the casting of La Academia, which this 2022 celebrates 20 years and becomes a regional content, where countries such as Ecuador have already acquired, and it will be broadcast live in Central America and the US, in addition to Mexico. She also mentioned that they are already in pre-production of the new installment of MasterChef celebrity, to be released during the last quarter of the year.
In terms of fiction, La Lotería del Crimen is one of the titles that are about to hit the Azteca Siete screen. “It is a police series that will complement the programming, in addition to De Madres a Hijos (tentative title) for Azteca One and we are already on the task of reading scripts for a telenovela. So far we have three proposals that we are reviewing to rule out any classic or pink story, but we are sure that it will be of great quality and will be ready for the following year,” she said.
To conclude, she assured that they are producing more and more content, expanding the offer of unitary stories, and combining with international films with the support of strategic partners such as Warner Bros. Discovery, Disney, and NBCUniversal.
