During the Digital Content NewFronts, Twitter announced more than 30 content alliances in entertainment, news, sports, and games, among other things.
Matthew Derella, Global Vice President, Revenue & Content Partnerships, at Twitter, commented that Twitter is the only place where the conversation is linked to video and the most important live moments, giving brands the unique capability to connect with consumers. “That is our superpower.”
The companies that will offer content on Twitter include NBCUniversal, The Walt Disney Company (starting with the ESPN’s sports content; later, they will include the rest of the portfolio), Viacom (with Digital Studios) and Hearst.
For his part, Justin Connolly, Executive VP, Affiliate Sales and Marketing, Disney & ESPN Media Networks, said that through this new agreement, all the participants of the Company will have the opportunity to create unique experiences on Twitter that will amplify their brands significantly.
“Innovating at this level with The Walt Disney Company is a great step in the expansion of the video content we offer to attract consumers interested in Twitter,” pointed out Derella.
Likewise, Twitter also announced the launch of Creators Originals from Niche, a network of creators to make original premium series on Twitter.
Kay Madati, Global VP & Head of Content Partnerships at Twitter, explained that in the last year, “we have truly expanded our efforts with the best editors and content creators in the world to offer programming that reflects those diverse content interests.”
