The new Univision Deportes Network will be launched this Saturday April 7th with a wide distribution on DishLATINO.David Neal, SVP and executive producer of Univision Networks Sports, introduced the new network to a small group of media outlets during a presentation held at studio B from where Univision Deportes Extra (UDX), a new nightly, hour-long, fast-paced wrap-up of the day in sports, is being produced exclusively for the Univision Deportes Network.Univision Deportes Extra will tell the sports stories that matter most to Hispanic sports fans, from a perspective that is not covered in media today. The show is anchored by four broadcasters: sports commentator Claudia Trejos, former Televisa sports newscaster Alejandro Berry, reporter and former soccer athlete Antonietta Collins, and sports anchor Jorge Calvo.In addition, Jaime Motta, Lindsay Casinelli and Iván Kasanzew will serve as correspondents from Los Angeles, New York and Miami, respectively. Univision Deportes counts on more than double the amount of Liga Mexicana matches than any other network in the country, with exclusive rights to the home games for 12 of the 18 teams within the Liga Mexicana, plus away games for the rest of the leagues teams. Throughout the year, Univision Deportes comprehensive sports programming includes the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers starting this June, U.S. and Mexican national soccer teams matches, Major League Soccer, CONCACAF Champions League, FIFA 2013 Confederations Cup, FIFA Under-20 World Championships, FIFA Under-17 World Championships and the FIFA Womens World Cup, in addition to boxing and the latest from the MLB, NBA, NFL and more.
