Maria Uji Fulgueira Premios Juventud
María Uji Fulgueira, the Executive Producer of the red carpet show, Noche de Estrellas by Univision’s Premios Juventud (Youth Awards), told PRODU that in this edition they will present many innovations. For the first time, the Premios Juventud will be held outside Miami, from the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan Puerto Rico.
“It is a different carpet from the one we have traditionally done other years, but it will be fun, it will bring what people want to see, such as fashion, interviews with celebrities, information, music packages. We continue to innovate as a platform. This year we are going to have six hosts: Carlos Ponce, Karina Banda, José Figueroa, Jomari Goyso, Roberto Hernández, Kiara Liz, and Borja Voces, who will present the preliminary program on July 21 at 7pm” she commented. Fulgueira explains that since 2020, Univision wanted to celebrate the Premios Juventud in Puerto Rico, but due to the pandemic the plans were postponed until this year.
“This show is our Summer Bash, our summer show. What better place to go to than an island, the island of enchantment, Puerto Rico, and celebrate this big summer party that is Premios Juventud. The Coliseum is the largest and best-known venue in Puerto Rico. That was the place to do it. Additionally, all Univision programs are going to be broadcasting from there –Despierta América, Primer Impacto, El Gordo y la Flaca– in different places, showing the island” explained Fulgueira. She also mentioned that for the second year they will have a backlot for some musicals, which will be in La Marqueta this year.
“A very important thing regarding innovations is that we are integrating the graphic package and the carpet design in an interesting way. Obviously, we are in a new location, a new design, which is always a challenge. All of this is going to create a dynamic, fun, one-hour show with important personalities, and a lot of artists. That is what makes this carpet special” she added.
The producer mentioned that around 100 people are working on the production of the red carpet and they estimate that around 500 people will walk on it. She explained that they will start the pre-production both of Premios Juventud and of Noche de Estrellas, respectively, from the Coliseum.
She said that this Noche de Estrellas will also have a live program on TikTok, hosted by Lindsay Casinelli and Sirey Morán (winner of Nuestra Belleza Latina) starting at 6pm.
She added that, like every year, they would have a team in Televisa visiting to make live broadcasts for Mexico.
