With the participation of the main cast of Mi Marido Tiene Familia, a production by Juan Osorio for Televisa, the host Francisca Deschapelles and Adrián Santucho, EVP for Entertainment and Content at Univision Studios, Univision, held an event with the media to reveal the details of the telenovela that had its debut on the screen on Monday 21 at 9pm in the US.
“We have great expectations with this romantic, local customs comedy. We see ourselves reflected very much in stories like these, with a Juan Osorio that is always inspired, striking the right chord of the topics that reflect our Hispanic families. It includes this new paradigm in which men wash, cook and do a bunch of things and women do too, but they also go out every day to face the challenges in life. It is a very fresh comedy,” expressed Santucho.
The main stars Zuria Vega and Daniel Arenas accompanied by the actors Laura Vignatti and José Pablo Minor highlighted that the novela has managed to attract millennials who have drifted away from traditional TV.
“Young people who watch us in Mexico are millennials. It is an audience we have recovered. It is a story that covers all ages, you necessarily see yourself reflected at some point and there aren´t prejudices,” commented Vega.
“We didn´t want to slide into a farcical comedy, but instead were aiming to do something as natural as possible,” mentioned Arenas.
Mi Marido Tiene Familia is an adaptation of the Korean drama My Husband Got Family, written by Park Ji-eun.
