After the success of Pedro el Escamoso, Más Escamoso que Nunca on Caracol Televisión, and Disney+, the series is returning to the Hispanic market in the U.S., this time through Univision. The network purchased the rights to broadcast the series in that country, marking the return of Colombian productions to U.S. television.
As part of its new fall programming in the U.S., Univision will debut the second season of Pedro el Escamoso on Wednesday, September 18th at 10pm.
“We are excited to bring Pedro el Escamoso, Más Escamoso Que Nunca to our prime-time lineup this fall. This iconic series connects generations with its timeless humor and modern storytelling, offering fresh and diverse content that honors the elements we love and resonates with audiences of all ages,” said Leonor Sotillo, SVP, Scripted Content Strategy, Univision, to PRODU.
THE MOST-WATCHED SERIES IN COLOMBIA
Throughout its 23 episodes, Pedro el Escamoso, Más Escamoso que Nunca became the most-watched series in Colombia over the past two years, dominating its time slot and sometimes being the most-watched show of the entire day, surpassing Desafío XX, also from Caracol Televisión, which had been the rating king in that country.
On average, Pedro el Escamoso, Más Escamoso que Nunca recorded a 44.2% share and 9.3 rating points, outperforming its competition, which obtained a 25.14% share and 5.26 rating points. On Disney+, according to FlixPatrol data, the series has been in the top 10 in more than ten countries, including Colombia.

With the strong numbers for Pedro el Escamoso, Más Escamoso que Nunca, which also show that there’s no cannibalization between streaming platforms and broadcast TV, at least in Latin America, it’s expected that Pedro Coral’s adventures will reach various parts of the world.
The first season of Pedro el Escamoso in 2002 was a great success on Telemundo, so it was believed that the continuation would air on the same network. Surprisingly, Univision will be responsible for bringing it to U.S. households on broadcast television.
