Positive, efficient, fostering rapid networking, dynamic, and participative, are some of the adjectives that describe virtual markets, according to Marlon Quintero, general director of CIC Media.
“I think there are many positive claims, and when everything opens again and we can meet in places, a hybrid structure for events will make them more efficient and productive. A positive experience will take place that will affect all these markets,” he explained.
He mentioned the case of RealScreen, an event that will be virtual this year, and in which, through Speed Pitching, in 30 minutes he was able to connect with four distribution companies he will do a follow-up with. “The lounge where people meet has a very interesting proposal for us to feel almost as if we were there. It is a matchmaking-type process. You enter for 30 minutes and they match you with people who are compatible with your company’s profile,” he detailed.
According to Quintero, these virtual markets do keep their clients in touch and offer opportunities for networking. “It is also an opportunity for all those people in the team who were not able to go to conferences. Now that the cost is lower, they have the possibility to attend,” he added.
He highlighted that due to the nature of the projects he is handling, he is more on RealScreen than on NATPE. “The speed pitch, for producers who have several projects to present, is a very favorable window,” he furthered.
He said that distributors are also setting up their own online dynamics with broadcasters. “They are delivering positive results,” he ended.
