For the first time ever, WAPA Televisión is teaming up with Canal 1 on an exclusive week-long special edition of the hit competition show Guerreros (Warriors), in which contestants from the reality show franchise from both countries go head-to-head to prove which country—and which contestant—comes out ahead as the ultimate Guerrero.
One of the most successful reality show formats in Latin America, Guerreros features adrenaline-filled games and competition interlaced with narratives of love and conflict that leave viewers glued to their screens. The program launched in Puerto Rico in May of 2019, quickly establishing itself as the dominant rating leader in its time period among persons 18-49, while in Colombia, it launched in August of 2017, ultimately becoming the most-watched program on Canal 1, with over one million viewers tuning into the network per episode.
“This joint effort between Colombia and Puerto Rico taps into Latinos’ sense of national pride, adding another exciting layer to what promises to be a thrilling and action-packed viewing experience. We’re confident that the program will resonate with audiences both in the U.S. mainland and on the Island,” said Alan Sokol, president, and CEO of Hemisphere Media Group, Inc., parent company of WAPA and Canal 1.
Titled La Gran Batalla, Colombia vs. Puerto Rico, the special edition will be available starting on November 11th on WAPA TV at 5:30pm AST and on November 12th at 2pm EST on WAPA América, WAPA TV’s U.S. cable network arm.
