The new program, which is expected to launch in the coming weeks, will simulcast live in the U.S. mainland on WAPA América
WAPA TV is set to launch a new original comedy show featuring some of the top actors and comedians from both Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. This will be the first television production in history to mix the top comedic talent from Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.
The new program, which is expected to launch in the coming weeks, will simulcast live in the U.S. mainland on WAPA América, WAPA’s U.S. cable network arm.
Produced entirely in Puerto Rico, the new primetime weekly series will feature humorous stories based on everyday situations, acted out by a diverse cast of actors and comedians. Puerto Rico’s beloved actors Jorge “El Molusco” Pabón, Carlos Vega, Giselle Ortiz, Yaiza Figueroa, Erik “Chicho” Rodriguez, Bryan Reyes and Jo-Ann Toro will join a leading Dominican cast made up of Fausto Mata, Tony Pascual, Aquiles Correa, and Manolo Ozuna.
“The mix of this level of talent from Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic for a project like this is unprecedented and will allow us to reach the great Dominican community living in Puerto Rico and the United States in a humorous and different way. We are confident that this family-friendly project will be well-supported and we are grateful to have this wonderful talent as part of our family,” said Jimmy Arteaga, president of Programming, Production and Promotions at WAPA TV.
Further details of the program, directed by Eduardo “Transfor” Ortiz, will be announced in the coming weeks.
