WarnerMedia consolidated the acquisition, announced in October, of the minority stake of Ole Communications in HBO Ole Partners and HBO Brazil Partners, the joint ventures between WarnerMedia and Ole Communications, and is now the owner of 100% of all the HBO services, Cinemax and HBO Go Latin America and Brazil.
HBO services in Latin America will now be under the responsibility of Gerhard Zeiler, Chief Revenue Officer of WarnerMedia, and president of WarnerMedia International Networks.
“We are very happy to complete this strategic acquisition that will allow us to tap into the potential of WarnerMedia in Latin America, generating more value for our fans, commercial partners, and content creators. In the first place, with this acquisition we intend to launch local versions of HBO Max, for users in the entire region,” expressed Zeiler.
“Almost thirty years ago, Ole partnered with HBO to build one of the leading pay-TV platforms in Latin America. HBO has been an ideal partner and I am very grateful to all those who worked with us to create HBO Latin America. I am also proud of the important role that Ole and the managerial team of HBO Latin America played in what we achieved together. I wish WarnerMedia the greatest success,” said Enrique Cuscó, president and CEO of Ole Communications.
