WICT organized a breakfast with Adriana de la Puente, general director of Wellbeing, Communication and Integration at Grupo Salinas, as part of her plan of conferences for members, in which de la Puente developed ideas around the mechanism to create symbols and stories that enable the cultural transformation of a society towards greater equity for women. De la Puente created a six-year strategy for Grupo Salinas (almost one hundred thousand employees in eight countries) for the change in the corporate culture of the company.
De la Puente deepened in her talk about the importance of symbols and stories, many of which originated in the media, which is why industry executives can have a huge impact on this cultural change. “The important thing is that these stories should make an impact in the affective aspect, so they can reach the audience,” she said.
Fernanda Merodio, president of the WICT chapter in Mexico, stated that the idea on WICT is to promote this cultural change to transform the image of women in Mexico. The conference plan continues on August 30 with the workshop from Dalia Empower titled “What successful women have in common”, and then on September 11 with Marva Johnson, Global VP at WICT and VP of government affaires at Charter Communications, one of the biggest US cable operators,” who will talk about the tools required to survive in this industry.
WICT Mexico already has the IFT as a sponsor. “A TV station is about to enter as a sponsor,” said Merodio, who recalled that the organization is about to celebrate its first anniversary in October.
