Zapping TV, OTT of linear signals, which in December 2018 celebrates one year operating in the Chilean market, aims to expand in Mexico, Argentina, and Colombia; likewise, to advance in its international signals package and reach 50 thousand pay subscribers.
During these first months, the company has managed to consolidate the technology and is currently available in iOs, Android, Apple TV, SmartTV LG, and soon Samsung and Roku.
The platform has a base of 60 thousand registered users who have tested the service and a basic package of 40 linear signals, that will soon be 60. It also offers additional pay channel packages (international channels from Colombia, and soon from Chile and Argentina).
“Zapping TV is the answer to the evolution of the cable industry. An important tech change for the cable operator is to now work on streaming and have apps. That is where we want to be leading. We will operate with a light model that has lower cost and are an option for cord cutters and cord nevers” commented Gustavo Morandé, CEO and founder of Zapping TV.
He also mentioned they are launching niche channels: “Not all channels can be of films and series in general. There are a lot of niches to generate signals that are not on cable and that will live better on platforms that are 100% online, like ours.”
