The Cannes Lions Festival revealed the 15 women who will participate in their program See It Be It 2017. This initiative was launched in 2014 by the festival organizers to mitigate the low numbers of women in upper levels of the industry globally. This year, 43% of the jury members in the festival are women, but barely 3% are Creative Directors. “See It Be It was launched to highlight extremely talented creative women and accelerate their careers. This year’s group comes from all over the world and bring a wide range of experiences and strong leadership potential. They will be exposed to the best inspiration Cannes Lions has to offer, with exclusive mentoring sessions, workshops and a programme of events designed to extend and enhance their network” said Louise Benson, Executive Festival Director at Lions Health, Lions Entertainment and Executive Lead, See It Be It. The group includes Adebola Adegbulugbe, Copy Group Head at Insight Publicis, Nigeria; Atiya Zaidi, Executive Creative Director at Synergy Dentsu, Pakistan; Deborah Vasques Soares, Senior Copywriter at Lew’LaraTBWA, Brazil; Jaki Jo Hannan, Senior Art Producer at AMV BBDO, United Kingdom; Kara Coyle, Associate Creative Director at Ogilvy & Mather, USA; Sakshi Choudhary, Creative Supervisor at OgilvyOne Worldwide, Mumbai, India; Satoko Takada, Creative Director at McCann Tokio, Japan; Shannon Crowe, Copywriter / Creative Freelance (formerly she worked at Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, Australia) and Tahirah Edwards-Byfield, Senior copywriter at AKQA, USA.
