El Sol, the Ibero-American advertising festival celebrated in Spain, announced that it has postponed its 35th edition until October 21-22 from the originally planned dates of June 3-4, 2020, to protect attendees from the COVID-19 pandemic. The organizers also announced that due to the change of dates, the venue might also have to be changed, though Madrid will continue to be the city hosting the event. “The priority now is to do as much as possible to slow down the infection rate and keep the disease from spreading. That is why, besides changing the date, the El Sol organization remains attentive to the instructions and recommendations of Spanish government authorities, the World Health Organization, and the trend of current events in order to take decisions in line with the evolution of the pandemic and the general situation in Spain and the world,” the festival organizers said.
