The Creative Directors of Droga5, Giulia Magaldi and Frank García, will present the creative workshop 1 Weekend, 1 Idea at the Miami Ad School Punta Cana. “Our careers began at the Miami Ad School, where we and other eventual graduates wondered what the portfolio program was going to be like” Magaldi said. “This simple curiosity led us to create a workshop in which creatives could test the experience of this portfolio school for a weekend. And what better place in the world to do it than the Miami Ad School Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic?” They said that their interest is to guide participants to create a project for their book over a weekend, from the conceptual phase of the idea to the point of sending it to leading advertising industry magazines. “Each approach will come from the individuality of each creative. We want every piece developed during the workshop to represent the work style of its creator, whether he or she is interested in startups, comedy, epic manifestos or whatever” Garcia said. According to the creative pair, ideas are of the utmost importance in this digital world, however many digital platforms society develops to express itself or however many ways it invents to crystallize those ideas creatively while making the most of tech advances. “We believe each idea must live in the media that best suit it. Of course, the more media channels there are, the more inspiration there will be for creative ideas” he said.
