Grey creates a striking awareness campaign about abortion in Chile

Los tutoriales para abortar recorrieron el mundo y crearon consciencia sobre la situación en Chile

Chile is one of the few countries in the world in which abortion in all its manners continues to be a crime. This conception comes from policies inherited from a military regime, The organization MILES, which works for sexual and reproductive rights of Chileans, appealed to the agency Grey to launch a campaign in the framework of the parliament discussion to change the law and authorize therapeutic abortion, which is backed by 71% of the population.The campaign consisted of a series of tutorials for abortion they posted on YouTube, offering women techniques to make them seem accidents. The videos capture the situation of a country in which women prefer to commit suicide or become disabled in order not to go to jail for having had an abortion.“We know it is a strong campaign, but it is totally in sync with the reality in Chile, because women here are prone to do anything when they go through the stress and loneliness of unwanted pregnancies without any support,” commented Claudia Dides from MILES. The campaign made a lot of noise in social networks around the world and the law continues to be discussed. The idea will compete in the 2015 Cannes Lions Festival. The team behind it was: Carles Puig, ECD; Alberto Osorio, Robert Canales and Pancho Rojas, Creative Team; Javier Herrera, Oscar Lizarralde, Accounts Team; Felix Padilla, Mauricio Anaya and Roberto Aravena, Digital Team and Mauricio Medina, Producer.
