GREY places Duracell’s dreams on the road with a new record

El auto con 144 baterías de uso doméstico rompió el récord mundial de manejo a distancia
Last longer, dream further is the motto of Duracell’s new campaign, Achievements. GREY Düsseldorf presented the long durability of household batteries with this marketing effort, in which they proved that dreams don’t always need wings to fly. The promotion consisted of a battery-powered remote control car, which broke the world record for long-distance remote control driving.Fabian Kirner, CCO of GREY, explained that the idea behind the campaign shows Duracell’s concern for children to be able to play with their toys as long as possible, giving their dreams free reign. “With our undertaking we wanted to test the product under extreme conditions and honour the achievements that in the past have changed the world, by putting dreams on the road” he added.Bertha Benz was the inspiration to achieve this record. In 1888 she covered the first long-distance drive with an automobile, a motor vehicle that her husband had just built and patented, and she did it without an official permit or asphalt roads. She drove 106 km and opened the doors of success, not only for Mercedes Benz but for the entire automobile industry as well.On the exact route that Bertha Benz took, GREY has made children´s dreams come true. In a remote control car equipped with 144 household batteries, they covered the 100 km distance and broke the world record of the longest distance ever covered by a remote control car with a single charge.
