The Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility, or HACR, announced the results of its 2013 Corporate Inclusion Index. The number of participants increased for the fifth straight year and the study highlights HACRS four pillars: Employment, Procurement, Philanthropy, and Governance.Among the bellwether results are the facts that 39 percent of Fortune 100 companies took part in the survey this year, including four of the top 10, and that Hispanics account for more than 13 percent of employees in America. But on the average, participants said they directed nearly 2 percent of total procurement spend to Hispanic-owned businesses. And finally, annual charity donations to the Hispanic community and Hispanic organizations by participants in the HACR poll totaled almost 10 percent.Increased participation and greater transparency have enabled HACR to better assess how Hispanics are faring along our four pillars, said Dr. Lisette M. Garcia, director of the HACR Research Institute.
