Seeking to make more money and willing to install Facebooks business model, Instagram – taken over by Facebook two years ago- has announced important adjustments in market advertising, including the release of a new ads platform. According to an Instagrams blog post, starting this month, advertisers both large and small can run campaigns on their networking services in more than 30 new countries Instagram also announced improvements in ad formats. Additional new features available to advertisers include the ability to publish landscape photos and to upload video content up to 30 seconds long; advertisers wont have to stick with Instagrams standard 15-second limit. The new video ads can be published horizontally and vertically, to support the recent upgrading of platforms formats. With these landscape videos, they hope to give ads a more cinematic feel, according to the blog post. With 300 million monthly active users, Instagram has a key advantage over rivals because parent Facebook’s vast trove of consumer data allows it to target audiences more accurately, a major selling point for advertisers.
