Jeff Marcoux, CMO at Microsoft, invited advertisers and brands to participate in consumer’s day to day, “since it is the only way to know what a client experiences when he relates to a brand and see where you are failing” he said. “A revolution in marketing is taking place and the transformation -thanks to technology and the new organizational culture- must happen. The most important thing is to understand data and work with it to create a good consumer-focused experience. It is the key to know your clients” he stressed. “Currently, people feel bombarded by ads. We must manage to do marketing in the right moment and the adequate platform”.Marcoux’s personal philosophy on marketing is that each relationship with the brand is marketing. “Everything matters, from watching an ad to calling customer service”. To make sure you have a positive relationship, he suggested implementing three simple principles to evaluate and improve consumer experience: “If it is easy to use, useful and enjoyable, it´s fine”. Among Microsoft´s technological initiatives to approach audiences is the partnership with Real Madrid. They developed an application that connects fans with their passions through the digital world. The platform offers data to approach consumers even more and understand the data, which plays a fundamental role in current marketing strategies.
