Ortiz: Cortos lo había escrito para mi familia porque quería que todas esas historias que me había tocado vivir quedaran escritas
Juan Carlos Ortiz, president of DDB Latina, spoke with PRODU about Cortos y Medio, which he has just launched as a new edition of the highly successful book he published two years ago in the U.S. and Colombian markets.Cortos (Shorts) was a book with a very interesting peculiarity, it was a creative autobiography of a Latino ad man working around the world and telling stories about some unforgettable incidents that he had seen or lived and that really impressed him Ortiz said. The reedition of Cortos, entitled Cortos y Medio (Shorts and a Half), has the same creative style, since it too is told from an airplane during the executives multiple business trips and on a mobile phone, but with the addition of 30 new real-life stories.I wrote the book for my family because I wanted to put in writing all those stories that I had been part of and the book was a success. The goal wasnt to write a bestseller, just a hit with my family, but its sales were great as well and it sold out completely he said. Thanks to that success the publishers called asking me to think up something new, what would a new edition look like, when I realized that I had around thirty new stories that I had written in the same way, and thats where the sequel came from that is called Cortos y Medio he said.
