Juan Pablo Ybarra of Whiskey: We want to consolidate ourselves as a production house able to produce content for the continent’’s major networks

Ybarra: Estamos muy contentos con este año y medio de trabajo en Whiskey Contenidos

Juan Pablo Ybarra, Executive Producer at Whiskey shared with PRODU his experience coordinating Whiskey contents. “We’re very happy with the work we’ve done this year and a half” he said. “This was an initiative of Salvador de la Fuente and his partners. We’re not the first in doing it, many production houses in the region -apart from doing traditional advertising- are betting on contents, both branded and original.” In 2015 Whiskey produced the series Amigos Sesame, broadcasted by Univision in the whole Hispanic market. Their last content production was the reality Mexico Diseña (Mexico designs) by Elle, released by SONY on Tuesday 5th. “We wanted to give a new shape to the project that for ten years in a row is the most important search platform for fashion design new talent in our country. Mexico Diseña wasn’t a reality, it was more a documentary that each year presented different young talent. Today is a launch platform, but also a great competition that includes all the elements a reality needs to fulfill the highest of entertainment requirements” he said. Whiskey is soon opening offices in Los Angeles. “This is a great bet. We want to consolidate ourselves as a production house able to produce content, not only for digital, but for the major networks of the continent and the Anglo market, that’s the idea of setting foot on the world’s capital, it’s not only about cinema now, but about contents.”
