Comercial Cooking the Moment, parte de la campaña ganadora
Lopez Negrete Communications won a Silver at the 2017 ARF David Ogilvy Awards, in the New Audiences category, for their campaign Wonder Every Day for Walmart. The challenge of these pieces was based on the Hispanic savings mindset acquired after the recession. Gradually, Latinos have resumed purchases for pleasure and not just for a need, and Walmart wanted to offer them the promise to Live Better. The agency decided to take ownership of the insights that holidays are important dates for Hispanics to built the campaign. They divided dates in four traditions: Thanksgiving, they set it for connecting Latinas with this relatively new festivity; Black Friday: they tapped into the Hispanics pleasure of getting together for Christmas and exchanging gifts, and together with the comedian Eugenio Derbéz, they created a commercial full of humor: Regalos de Navidad (Christmas Gifts), which shows the effort Latino parents go through to give their children the best gift to their families, and lastly, Christmas Food, the Latino’s connection with their Christmas parties at home, which food plays an essential role. The campaign exceeded the expected marketing goals. They managed to beat the competition, connect strongly with Hispanics and rise sales. Results were so remarkable that Walmart decided to use the campaign for each holiday.
