Ángeles: Me sorprende que no exista un número equitativo de mujeres en puestos creativos altos
Marcela Ángeles is a young Mexican creative, senior writer at Conill Los Angeles. She has received multiple acknowledgements for her work. This year she will be jury in the category of Creative Students in the Ibero American Advertising Festival (FIAP, according to its initials in Spanish), which will be held for the first time in Mexico from April 22nd to 24th.For Ángeles, the fact that the FIAP is held in her country speaks of the relevance Mexico has had at an international scale. “This makes clear that in Mexico there is great talent”, she told PRODU.”I find it super important for students or young creatives to participate in contests of this sort, in which you not only test your talent, but everything depends on you. In creativity contests for young people, you decide what to present and what limits to establish”, she stated. As jury, she expects to see inspiring pieces, in which the first idea remains intact. “Good ideas can come from anywhere: from a trainee or a VP, a man or a woman. I am surprised there isn´t an equal number of women in high creative positions and as juries of creativity festivals”. She states that it is necessary to find a solution to this dilemma. It is the obligation both of the person who has the power to decide as well as of the vast amount of talented women that exist in the industry. “I hope that in the next years we may say we work in an industry that supports equity and talent, no matter who they come from”.Instagram: @marcelaangelesTwitter: @marcelaangelesm
