Mario Rangel is a Peruvian filmmaker who made a professional shift from business to filmmaking. After earning an undergraduate degree in Business Engineering at Universidad del Pacífico and running a successful alpaca clothing brand, The Peruvian Alps, he followed his true passion: telling stories through cinema. Mario earned a Master of Fine Arts in Film Production from Full Sail University, where he honed his filmmaking skills. He began his journey in the film industry as an executive production assistant at the largest film studio in Peru, Señor Z. With a preference for the psychological horror, science fiction, and thriller genres, his thesis film, Pictorem, garnered recognition and nominations at the 2023 Suncoast Student Production Awards, Central Florida Film Slam and East Coast Movie Awards. He is currently working with the film studio Rated Art (soon to become Deisi Del Toro Productions) and, as a certified Davinci Resolve colorist, he is the supervising editor and colorist on two feature films, Melt on This and Melt on This Music. The first is available on Amazon Prime Video. In addition, he is the day-to-day Production Manager of the studio.“Working on this feature film – Melt on This – took me because it is about six women, each with different stories, experiences, and backgrounds, who decided to succeed in cinema. This inspires me because, in some way, I see my story among those featured in the film: follow your dreams until you make them come true,” said Mario. He said that the biggest challenge about this production was finding the resources to distribute it. “At first, it was tedious, but after researching, I found an online distribution platform for the feature film, and now it is available on Amazon Prime Video, Reveel, and Tubi.”Melt on This is the first feature film for Mario as supervising editor and colorist, a project that fills him with pride.View trailer of Melt on Thishttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-CHQmEpvsY
