For the Founder and Executive Producer of Basecamp Entertainment, Mary Pepper events leaded by women seek to create spaces for tolerance, like the Pink March of January in Washington. She said that this type of activities can have internal repercussions among private companies. “But there is great tension when confronting different points of view. The reaction is intense.” Regarding her company’s plans, she intends to keep up with her business model in 2017. “We continue to offer commercial directors and exclusive content, promoting the incentive of Puerto Rican Cinema, and offering production services in the U.S. and Puerto Rico” she explained. “We address the Hispanic and General market and those seeking total market too, because our Directors are bilingual and engaged with the Anglo and Hispanic cultures.” For Pepper the main trend this year will be combining platforms. “There is also a need for connecting the audience in a more interactive and personal way” she added. Despite 2016 was an unpredictable year in production and also in the U.S. politics -Pepper said- projects in 2017 have been moving with success. She highlighted that the creative quality of the Hispanic market can be compared to the general market. For her, there has been an important evolution regarding talent and creatives, who currently communicate better with millennials and general audience. “Our creatives represent our market better. The use of language, humor and cultural connection with our audience are critical for making and developing creativity work” she concluded.
