Manuel Martí, Head of Scripted Content Development for Latin America at Fremantle, said that it is a great challenge to be in charge of the region´s fiction area at a time when content takes greater relevance. “The new way to consume content makes the center of that business model to be content itself,” he explained.

Likewise, he estimates that in upcoming years we will witness greater strengthening of IP, as well as the commoditization of processes, with very similar production values, regardless of if they are made in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, or Argentina.

“With Coty we believe localization is key, but stories have to have a level and quality of IP that makes them attractive for the audience of the entire world,” he said, after highlighting the weight Latinos and their productions are acquiring in the international market, after mentioning that the level of storytelling and talent involved must transform them into a product that stands out.

He also commented that there are no formulas and that is what is interesting. “I think there are many types of content and many ways to consume them. So that also opens many new possibilities even in the context of short content, with a duration of 5 and 15 minutes per episode,” he said after mentioning that he will move to Mexico in the first semester of the year. The idea is to set up a production team from Mexico for the entire region.
