Hong is the second executive hire Fusion has made this year

Fusion announced that Hong Qu (@hqu), a veteran of YouTube and Upworthy, will become the network’s Chief Technology Officer. “We want Fusion to be an incubator for innovation where we take risks and experiment not only with new forms of content, but also new ways of ways of delivering that content – especially on our mobile platforms. Hong will work with our product team to find innovative new ways for us to reach our digital native audience, one that is increasingly culturally and socially connected,” Fusion CEO Isaac Lee said in an email to staff this Tuesday. Hong is the second executive hire Fusion has made this year. In January the network hired veteran journalist and new media entrepreneur Daniel Eilemberg as its Chief Digital Officer. Eilemberg founded Animal Político, Mexico’s first news platform to launch exclusively on Twitter, in 2010 and built it into one of the leading political news and social media properties in Mexico. Eilemberg now oversees all of Fusion’s digital, mobile, and social media platforms.
