August 16, 2012

Lawenda will be leaving the company early September

Univision has announced that David Lawenda, president of Ad Sales, will be leaving the company in early September. The position will be filled by Keith Turner, who has been senior VP of Sponsorship and Sales at the NFL since 2009. Univision CEO Randy Falco made the announcement, sending a memo to staffers Thursday morning about Lawenda’s resignation. He didn’t give a reason, but revealed that the former Univision executive had made the decision months ago. Falco promised a staff replacement would be announced, and shortly thereafter, it was publicized that Keith Turner would replace Lawenda as president of Ad Sales. Turner and Falco worked together at NBC in the Sports division. “Keith has a sterling reputation in the media industry for being an effective and creative sales and marketing executive” said Falco in a statement emailed to Adweek Magazine. “Having spent many years working closely with him at NBC, I can personally attest to his unique talent”.
