After announcing the acquisition of 70% of the shares of PCTV by Megacable, Jorge Tanaka, general director of PCTV, amid uncertainty about the future of TCV introduced the channel’s new image with round-the-clock programming based on informative clips.“Today we launch this new project because we’re convinced that in a time of transition, doubt is not an option; facing the issue of what alternatives to offer becomes indispensible. Three months ago the board underwent some changes and we decided to pay special attention and make our channels a priority to offer unique quality content for the pay-TV industry,” said Tanaka. He said the new channel’s programming grid is unique: “an informative channel focused on the young contemporary adult 18-48, who likes to stay informed and have topics of conversation, who takes positions on issues, argues and has an opinion.”Enrique Yamuni, President of Megacable and Chairman of the Board of PCTV, said that PCTV has over 350 affiliate systems, while TVC has distribution in over 1,000 towns, reaching 3.6 million homes.“This channel we’re re-launching is our cable-TV flagship and that makes it strong. We try to play an important role in the integration of communities and contribute to the common good,” said Yamuni.
