For the second year in a row, Twitter celebrates #DíaDelHashtag or #HashtagDay. These are the ones that drove the conversation in Mexico during the last months.

The symbol “Hashtag” or just “tag” has revolutionized the way people communicate. In 2007, @chrismessina used a Hashtag for the first time on Twitter as a suggestion for grouping conversations; at that time, Chris himself entered the Twitter offices to present his proposal and it was so elegant and striking, that the company could not dismiss it; the rest is history.

Twitter celebrates another year of trends, social movements, passions, and public conversation thanks to this simple but powerful character, which gives strength to our ideas and thoughts as the spotlight of our conversations.

In Mexico, people found their voice on Twitter to express feelings and opinions on a wide range of topics. Here there are the Hashtags that have driven the Mexican public conversation so far in 2019:
