For the first time this year Univision Communications will held a NewFront presentation in New York on May 1st to showcase their digital content.Steve Mandala, executive vice president, Advertising Sales, Univision Communications Inc. spoke to PRODU about the NewFront. “Our participation in the NewFront is a reflection of the success we have had with our digital expansion efforts over the past 12 months and the significant appetite for digital content among the audience we serve. Univision owns the intersection between Digital and Hispanics and our goal is to showcase new digital innovations for our audiences and partners. U.S. Hispanics use digital devices in big numbers and in many ways, it is important for Univision to take a leadership role in helping marketers understand the Hispanic digital opportunity,” commented Mandala. On May 1st Univision will reveal new digital content and innovations, which includes made-for-web content, and plans to make that extraordinary growth in the digital and Hispanic worlds work for the company, their advertisers, their community and their audience. “Our strategy is centered on bringing our content to life through technology. That is why last year we introduced UVideos, the only bilingual digital video network for Hispanics that today is available in more than 240 million devices including Xbox, Samsung, Kindle and many others,” he added.According to Mandala, Univision sees the NewFront as complimentary to the Upfront and an opportunity to shine a spotlight on the robust offering of digital innovations the company is taking to market.“Univision has a fully integrated sales force that is led by Keith Turner and brings Univision’s entire media portfolio across broadcast, cable and local TV, as well as radio and digital to market for clients. This is the team that leads both the Newfront and Upfront conversations,” Mandala said.
