Adults 18-49 drove growth in the primetime lineup with Desafío growing by +270%
Azteca America finished August as the fastest growing Spanish-language network in primetime among Adults 18-49 for the fourth consecutive month, according to Nielsen. In its seventh consecutive month of year-over-year growth, the network also delivered its highest August ratings in five years across Total Viewers (+3%), Adults 18-49 (+10%) and Adults 25-54 (+15%). Adults 18-49 drove growth in the primetime lineup, with Al Extremo delivering a +34% increase, while Desafío grew by +270% and the docu-drama hour that includes El Cazador and Las Entrañas de lo Prohibido reported +24% year-over-year growth. Azteca had the highest concentration of young viewers in primetime, with 25% of its total average audience in the Adults 18-34 demo. In addition, Azteca reached 3.1 million Total Viewers and 1.5 million Adults 18-49 in primetime for the month. Locally, KPDF in Phoenix and WCHU in Chicago were the fastest-growing Spanish-language broadcasters in their respective markets among Adults 18-49. Key local markets delivered strong double and triple-digit growth in the Adults 18-49 demo, including Chicago (+211%) and Phoenix (+45%).
