The digital arena represents a great opportunity for BBC Worldwide to boost the distribution of content of its channel CBeebies in Latin America and U.S. Hispanic.Fred Medina, EVP and managing director of BBC Worldwide for Latin America and U.S. Hispanic, told PRODU the company is about to launch an SVOD application that would allow increased distribution of CBeebies while positioning it favorably in the growing native digital market (kids two to six years old that prefer to consume content through nonlinear platforms).In addition to helping us promote our linear channel, the new CBeebies app will allow us to learn from a technical and commercial point of view, and later apply these learnings to our other signals, said Medina.The new CBeebies app will be introduced this year to the Mexican market in partnership with Telcel (América Móvil). It will later reach the rest of Latin America and the U.S. Hispanic market in 2015.The U.S. Hispanic market is essential to CBeebies growth strategy in the region.
