Canal 22 Internacional will bring every Sunday from July, 3rd at 11pm, the drama Carlos, Rey Emperador (17×60´).This production, which tells the story of Carlos V, one of the most powerful men in Europe and the ruler of an empire as great in size as diversity, will debut in primetime. In the leading role is Alvaro Cervantes.Carlos was the first king to rule Castile and Aragon simultaneously in his own right, and, as a result, is sometimes referred to as the first King of Spain.The story covers the most important events in Carlos Vs life. Over the course of the episodes, the series starts off with Charles as a young man whose will power, tenacity and determination will make him the most powerful man in Europe, despite the hostility surrounding him and the strength of his rivals. By his side, Blanca Suarez stars as Isabel of Portugal, the only true love of the emperor.Carlos, Rey Emperador is often considered a companion series to Isabel, which recently completed its run on Canal 22 Internacional. As such, the production has widely been praised for its elaborate sets and authentic costumes which give viewers a sense of life in the 15 Century. Directed by Oriol Ferrer and produced by Diagonal TV for national broadcaster Television Espanola (TVE), the series initially premiered in September of 2015 on TVEs flagship channel La 1.
