Luis Torres-Bohl, founder and president of Castalia announced during NATPE that they are finishing a project titled Fuerza Necaxa (13×30´), a co-production with Mexicanal; and that they are making a new series called Imágenes de México (32×60´). Last year we made the first episode, dedicated to San Luis Potosí. Each episode represents one of the 32 Mexican states and it will surely take us two years to finish the series, he explained.Torres-Bohl mentioned that Imágenes de México will be their sixth documentary production. We are also going to make a sports program about bull jaripeo (rodeo). We will start in April with a bull riding tournament in Houston. It will be a one hour program comprised of 12 rides with the best riders, and there will be one winning bull and rider, he commented. He said these products have Mexicanal as their first window, but afterwards they will be offered for sale. Recently, NBC Universo in the US bought their production Son Mariachis that has done very well. We are near closing with other buyers, and that is a great incentive for a small company like ours.
