Cinelatino to broadcast the 2012 Ariel Awards

Cinelatino will broadcast the presentation of the 2012 Ariel Awards, the highest recognition for film awarded by The Mexican Academy of Film Arts and Sciences (AMCAC, for its Spanish acronym), on Sunday, June 10, at 9pm.The 54th edition took place on Saturday, June 2, in a grand ceremony at the Bellas Artes Palace in Mexico City with a multitude of renowned directors and actors, among them Marta Higareda and Damiel Jimenez Cacho. Pastorela, by Emilio Portes, and Días de Gracia (Days of Grace) by Everado Gout, were the two most awarded films of 2012, taking home seven and eight statues, respectively.The fifth Mexican box office hit of 2011 with more than a million viewers, Pastorela is a black comedy that captures the epic battle between good and evil in Mexico City. Among the seven awards the film received were Best Picture and Best Director.Días de Gracia won the most awards of the evening, among them Best First Work and Best Actor (Tenoch Huerta). The Ariel Awards are Mexicos version of the Oscar Awards, and we are proud to offer this prestigious event to our viewers and let them share in the most exciting event in Mexican cinema.
