Highlighting Banijay Americas’ strengths and strategic initiatives, Endemol Shine Boomdog and A Fábrica are joining forces to launch A Fábrica Mexico & U.S. Hispanic, a premier content label in Mexico City dedicated to championing creativity and innovation in scripted storytelling, with a focus on developing and producing original Spanish-language scripted content for the respective regions. It is set to launch later this year and represents a significant step in Banijay Americas’ strategic growth.
Led by Luiz Noronha, CEO of A Fábrica, whose Rio de Janeiro-based studio has produced many of Brazil’s top scripted series and films, the new label aims to broaden audiences by bridging the creative landscapes of Mexico and U.S. Hispanic markets.
Joining Banijay Americas’ in December 2022, the company under Noronha’s continued direction, is dedicated to amplifying local talent and delivering authentic, high-quality stories with global appeal.
“The opportunity to get to know and work in the Spanish-language market is invaluable for any producer, and the challenge fills us with a lot of energy,” says Noronha. “We are working on a powerful line-up ranging from sitcoms to soap operas, bringing together the experience of tremendous talent from Brazil and Mexico.”
A Fábrica Mexico & U.S. Hispanic will join the Endemol Shine Boomdog Group-fold (part of Banijay Americas), a collection of Mexico City-based production companies led by Alejandro Rincon, producing many of the top-rated Spanish-language series in both the U.S. and Mexico through its companies: Endemol Shine Boomdog, Banijay Mexico & U.S. Hispanic, Wide Angle and A FábricaMexico & U.S. Hispanic.
Endemol Shine Boomdog’s scripted team and its current series and development projects will move over to A Fábrica Mexico & U.S. Hispanic. Jerry Rodriguez, who has led the former’s scripted team, will continue to lead operations for the new label, reporting to Noronha.
“We have seen a clear desire for high-quality scripted content in the Spanish-language marketplace and that series such as Como Agua Para Chocolate can quickly become overnight successes for major streamers and networks,” says Endemol Shine Boomdog Group CEO Alejandro Rincon. “And the team at A Fábrica has shown for years now that they can successfully develop and produce hit scripted programming in Portuguese and we are excited to join forces with them to launch A FábricaMexico & U.S. Hispanic, a new label that will supercharge our scripted efforts in the region.”
Ben Samek, CEO of Banijay Americas, added, “This partnership expands our presence in the scripted content market and underscores our commitment to delivering engaging programming to a massive and ever-growing audience across Latin America and beyond.”
