After its participation at Mipcom with sitcoms, thrillers, suspense series and documentaries, Lemon Films is set to open its own studios to produce videogames. It will be headed by company founding partner Billy Rovzar, who said this launch is consistent with the company’s efforts to become a complete multi-screen producer (film, TV, theater, digital and videogames).Rovzar said the videogame studios would soon open in the U.S., “which allows us to penetrate this industry and develop products for smart phones, tablets and game consoles, devices that represent the future. I believe this is the golden age of videogames. Currently, 30% of people own a smart phone and the number keeps growing, that’s why this is fertile ground for creating content for these devices.”Without offering many details, Rovzar said the videogame venture was born from a partnership with an expert in the area. The beta version of the current projects will launch in February with final versions coming out in March.Lastly, he said that Lemon Films, in keeping with its multimedia approach, is also currently in post-production of the second installment of the film KM 31, scheduled to premiere in 2015. The team is also working on the film El Más Buscado, La Leyenda Del Charro Misterioso. For TV they’re producing Señor Ávila for HBO and Paramédicos for Canal Once.
