MundoFox announces new East Coast bureau based in N.Y. for its national news program Noticias MundoFox
Noticias MundoFox announced the opening of its New York City based news bureau to serve the East Coast. Leading the bureau is Peggy Carranza, who will serve as a Spanish-language contributor to MundoFoxs national news division, providing daily news segments from the East Coast geared toward viewers nationally.Having an East Coast bureau solidifies our position as a truly national news program. Peggys diverse journalistic experience in the industry brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our team; she is the perfect individual to aid in our expansion to the East Coast, said Jorge Mettey, senior vice president of News. Carranza is a nationally-recognized journalist and correspondent with a long career in Hispanic broadcast TV. Prior to joining MundoFox, she was a correspondent for TV Martí and Univision in New York. She was also the host of Noticias Gentv for the Caracol network, where she specialized in covering national and international politics and economics. Carranza has national level experience in the industry, as a reporter, writer and producer for both the Telemundo national newscast and Al Rojo Vivo, one of the highest rated shows on Hispanic TV in the U.S. She began her journalistic career in Chicago where she served as a newscaster for TeleFutura and a health reporter for Univision. Carranza will lead the New York City bureau with a dedicated team covering news relevant to viewers both locally and nationally.
