The streaming service PantaYA has acquired the comedy series Ana from Viacom International Studios (VIS) starring international star Ana De La Reguera, which is set to launch on the platform early next year.

The series is created, written, produced and starred by Mexican actress, Ana de la Reguera and tells the story of the daughter of a Mexican beauty queen who tries to attain fame as an actress in Hollywood while fighting the passage of time and the weight of her mother’s unfulfilled dreams.

“This acquisition completes the first cycle of content distribution for VIS in Americas,” said Guillermo Borensztein, VP of Content Sales and Co-Productions of VIS. “Following our deals with Amazon and Comedy Central Latin America for the series, we are happy to reach the US Hispanic market by way of this agreement. Working with great partners like PantaYA not only expands our reach but also reinforces our position as industry leaders in development, production and distribution of premium content.”

“We are very excited to bring Ana to U.S. and Puerto Rico audiences exclusively through PantaYA. We are a big fan of Ana de la Reguera, her unique creative voice and her incredible work. This series is a perfect addition to our lineup of bold and exciting premium content featuring A-list talent,” commented Mario Almeida, VP of Programming, Development, and Acquisitions at PantaYA who negotiated the deal for the platform.
