Paul Presburger, CEO of Pantelion Films & general director of Televisa USA

Paul Presburger, CEO of Pantelion Films & general director of Televisa USA, spoke with PRODU in New York about the recent success of the movie Instructions Not Included in the U.S.“We announced the company three years ago and we have been taking incremental steps in finding the Latino audience. It all came together on Instructions Not Included as the highest grossing Spanish-language movie in history,” he said.Presburger notes that the success of Instructions not Included proves that Pantelion Films’ model of really smart, universal stories with Latino stars that are popular and famous, can turn in a big audience. “Instructions Not Included proved that there is a market out there that wants to see great content with a core audience for Latinos marketed properly with stars they recognize and great stories. We are going to continue to do that, both in English and in Spanish,” he emphasized. Presburger also mentioned the projects Televisa USA is working for the Anglo market. “Televisa USA was started a year and half ago, and the concept was not to make TV shows for Latinos, but to really make TV shows for the general audience. Our clients are cable and broadcast networks in English, but all of those same networks are trying to attract more of the Latino audience. We think we can help these clients to over index with the Latinos,” he added.
